Might I suggest 2 things: 1. Get rid of the seizure light (the rapid blinking light) in combat, and replace it with just a color indicating that the current character is selected. 2. Lower the pitch of the menu noise when you scroll up and down (I find it too high and a bit unpleasant). Aside from that I can't wait to see the next installment! I’m happy that I stumbled onto this – very nice demo!

I'm unaware of how much the game engine can take or your animating ability, but I think the ground could use more texturing. The cave floor looks a little to bland to be a cave floor. Also, is that water within the cave, about 5 blocks to the right of the sprite? If it is, it may need some more waves in it, at least to discern what it is. Other than those things, its pretty good!
